Julia (Owner & PT)

Hi! I’m Julia! I own the only private PT studio in Cambridge known as Lift Fitness.

I’m also a PT running my business in the same gym right alongside the rest of the team, so I’m able to make first hand adjustments to the space to make it the best place in Cambridge for PT’s to train their clients.

My focus as a PT is mainly on building strength and confidence in my clients. This includes body positivity, a strong (and sustainable!) mindset, and finding ways to make health and fitness actually enjoyable and fun for everyone.

My focus as a gym owner is the same - creating a space where everyone is invited to participate in becoming healthy and fit- in whatever way that suits them best!

I love the diverse specialities we have of each PT in my gym- from Hyrox, to CrossFit, gymnastics, powerlifting, boxing, olympic lifting, runners, strongman, calisthenics, rehab specialists, the list goes on…

I know that health and fitness is never a “one size fits all” thing, and our diverse PT’s and clientele reflect exactly that ethos.

So, if you’re a PT, (or a person just looking to be a bit healthier), give us a shout and come by and have some fun!

Mattie (PT)

Hey there, I’m Mattie! Over a decade ago, I began my fitness journey fuelled by my love for martial arts, rugby, and weight training. Exploring a variety of sports and exercises has led me to the exciting world of health and fitness.

With a background in Sport Coaching and a deep dive into its science, I’ve honed the skill of tailoring coaching techniques for individuals of all levels. I’m confident that my adaptable coaching style can positively impact anyone ready to embark on their fitness journey.

Certified in Crossfit, I’ve been energized by its dynamic approach to fitness. Specializing in unconventional strength training methods like Westside Barbell and Strongman, I aim to ignite your potential and leave you feeling empowered every step of the way. Let’s unlock your full strength together!

Verity (PT)

Hello world!

I have been coaching for 12 and a half years! I swiftly pivoted from fashion to fitness after university.

I have a range of coaching experience from standard gym fitness, CrossFit gymnastics, weight lifting, mobility and flexibility, locomotion and groundwork, injury rehab, aerial hoop and of course handstands!

I have 8 years of experience coaching individuals and communities online.

I coach in person at @liftfitnesscambridge in Cambridge and offer one to one's and workshops, and I coach online.

As much as I enjoy fun flashy skills, I value the basics and prioritise them in all of my own training sessions.

My long term goal is to have as much physical freedom in my body until the day I die.

I'm constantly a student - I have my own coaches, and love to continually learn and grow with the support of those more experienced than me.

Fitness has created so many opportunities for me, personally and professionally, and I want to teach others so they can experience the same.

I have a guinea pig named Françoise and he is my bestest tiny friend.

Tom (PT)

Hi everyone, I’m Tom! My journey began as an athlete diving into various sports and disciplines, spanning team sports to martial arts, and delving into internal arts like yoga and qi gong. This eclectic background significantly influences how I approach training for both myself and my clients.

With a foundation in Sports Science and Coaching, I ventured into the fitness industry a decade ago and continuously expanded my expertise.

Drawing from this wealth of knowledge, I’ve developed my own coaching style that aims to genuinely impact the lives of those I train.

Gemma (PT)

I'm Gemma and I believe in inclusivity in the fitness industry.

All bodies should feel comfortable working out. I help you to find fitness that you enjoy, using it to improve your physical and mental wellbeing.  I believe that fitness is not just about losing weight and looking 'good'. Fitness can be used as a way of supporting health and wellbeing, both physically and mentally. It can offer a great opportunity to develop friendships and be part of a community too.

I’m not your typical personal trainer. In a larger body myself, I understand the unique challenges that can come as part of this. My empathetic approach enables clients to feel comfortable when training and helps them to develop confidence in themselves.

George (PT)

Hey everyone, I’m George! My journey to get stronger has led me to pursue a Bachelors in strength and conditioning, compete in strongman and Olympic Weightlifting, to now, where I’m studying a masters in physiotherapy.

I truly believe strength training is for everyone and can have such a positive impact on someone’s life, no matter their starting point.

It’s something I hope to be doing for the rest of my life, and maybe I can convince you to do the same. So, if you’ve never touched a barbell before or would like more direction in your training, I want to help.

Holly (PT)

Hello, I'm Holly, and I'm the founder of Holly Sycha Fitness. I specialize in pre and post-pregnancy fitness, offering a range of services including in-person and virtual Zumba classes, personal training, and online fitness coaching.

As a new mother myself, I understand the unique challenges that come with regaining strength and fitness post-pregnancy.

I believe that tailored exercise programs can have a significant impact on the well-being of new mothers, helping them rebuild core strength, boost energy levels, and improve mental health.

Oli (PT)

I’m Oli! I’ve been a personal trainer since 2005, working within the fitness industry ever since. My main focus is helping clients with their fitness goals regardless of their background or ability. This could be sport specific or introducing fitness to someone for the first time.

I try to build confidence and help find something thats sustainable but also fun at the same time.

Seeing people achieve their goals or even just improving their mental or physical health is what my job is all about.

My specialities are:

- Hyrox coaching

- Sport specific training

- Advanced level three personal trainer

- TRX instructor

- Kettlebell instructor

- Medicine ball instructor

- Boxing fitness

Eddie (PT)

Hi I’m Eddie! I’ve been a PT for over 13 years. My main focus is helping people find direction with their exercise, diet, and lifestyle, to make positive progress towards their goal.

It’s rewarding to open up someone’s potential for movement so I particularly enjoy working with people who feel limited by their age or ability.

I believe we can all feel better with a consistent exercise routine and have heard countless reports from clients feeling stronger and more confident in their body. It’s a joy to help people feel that way!

Lewis (PT)

I’m Lewis Kahraman. Boxing and martial arts have been a burning passion of mine since I was very young. They have impacted my life in so many ways. It has given me the ability to express myself like nothing else has.

I believe boxing is set apart from most other sports practices for the following reasons. It requires commitment, discipline, dedication and persistence all of which are essential and empowering life skills.

It also takes you to the limit of yourself, physically and psychologically, giving you the opportunity to enhance your courage and determination.

Boxing is for everyone, we are all fighters in some way!

Faye (PT)

Hi everyone! I’m Faye. I have competed in Powerlifting since 2012, and for the GB Team since 2015. I also love to have a run around a Rugby pitch! My training ethos I think comes very much from Rugby in terms of the core values of teamwork, respect and community and I aim to bring these out in my life in general, as well as in my coaching.

As a Powerlifting and Rugby coach, I work a lot in both of these areas for optimising perfomance and working towards competitions in Powerlifting.

My other specialist area is working with people with medical issues, and using exercise to help improve symptoms, recover for surgeries, and assist with lifestyle changes.

This work has lead me to working with an addiction rehabilitation group, (and I love this work!) the variety of people that join, their stories, and their journeys is something I am privileged to be a part of.

Selma (PT)

Hi I’m Selma! I’m a level 4 personal trainer and have been in the industry for 13 years. My passion is everything from high intensity training to marathons and everything in between.

I mix up training routines to keep them interesting while making sure your specific goals are met and importantly that you are enjoying your sessions.

I work with a variety of people from different age groups, skill levels, and backgrounds. In a 121 session, it’s hugely important that a client’s strengths and weaknesses are taken into account. It is important to understand how the session can impact the person both physically and mentally in the short & long term.

Whether it’s weight loss or preparing for an event, it always excites me to go through the journey with my client and get results from it.

I pride myself on creating lasting relationships with my clients as we go on their fitness journey that has a positive affect on all aspects of their lives!

Steve (Osteopath)

I'm Steve! I have over 10 years hands-on experience dedicated to supporting patients dealing with the whole range of musculoskeletal issues. These include problem areas such as back pain, sciatic symptoms, headaches alongside those strains and pains brought on through the stress of everyday life. I also have a keen interest and specialist knowledge in the area of sports injury and rehabilitation, dealing closely with shoulder, knee and muscle injuries.

Philosophy: Tailoring treatments to your individual requirements by establishing the core issue and being dedicated to restoring optimum health and musculoskeletal function. Working alongside each patient to ensure you are back on track to full health and able to restore an active lifestyle – be it in the office or on the sports field.
